Awarded to Dam Park at Austin: Master Plan & Economic Development Strategies. This master plan provided the Austin Dam Memorial Association with a framework
for making decisions related to improving the Austin Dam Memorial Park, and with
economic development and marketing strategies to establish Austin Borough as a
destination within the PA Wilds, Lumber Heritage Region, and Pennsylvania Route 6
Tourist initiatives.The master planning process included analyzing natural features such as topography, hydrology, soils, and vegetation, as well as an evaluation of the existing facilities & activity areas, and an understanding of the site’s role in the history of Austin Borough, and the lumber industry of the late 1900th and early 20th centuries.
