The Lycoming County Department of Planning and Community Development is seeking a Transportation Planner to join our team. The Transportation Planner will serve as staff for the Williamsport Area Transportation Study (WATS) Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO). WATS is the single county MPO covering Lycoming County. The WATS MPO is a planning body composed of elected and appointed officials representing local, state & federal transportation agencies, and other groups who have an interest or responsibility in the maintenance/ improvement of our local transportation system. The MPO is responsible for creating a Long-Range Transportation Plan (LRTP), a Transportation Improvement Program (TIP), and a Unified Planning Work Program (UPWP). The Transportation Planner is responsible for advocating, planning, and implementation of transportation needs throughout Lycoming County in an effort to promote orderly development and an improved quality of life for our constituents.
