Community Needs: Assessments That Planners Should Know About

Approved for 1.25 CM credits

In the field of planning, the creation of plans is one of the foundations upon which decisions are made, recommendations are provided, and funds are invested.  Plans can range from overall comprehensive plans to those specific to open space and recreation, to housing, or to transportation.  While these plans provide planners and decision-makers with relevant information, additional assessments and plans from other organizations and agencies can also provide useful information that can be applied to and coordinated with community planning practices.

This webinar will feature speakers from three community service entities that conduct needs assessments and oversee implementation of the corresponding plans. These speakers will present information about how their organization/agency serves the community, as well as information about the types of assessments and plans that their organization/agency is engaged in.  Specific examples of plans and processes will be provided as well as collaboration examples and opportunities.
