The Chester County Planning Commission is seeking one to two summer interns to assist with a variety of planning tasks including, but not limited to:

Sustainability

  • Inventory and analysis work for Chester County’s upcoming County-wide Tree Canopy Plan.
  • Public outreach support for the county’s Climate Action Plan update.

Data Collection, Updates, and Analysis

  • Assisting demographer with a variety of data webpage updates.
  • Calculating past non-residential development from plan review records.
  • Economic development data collection and analysis including employment. location quotient by industry and employment shift share analysis by industry

Agriculture and Parks

  • Assisting with Agricultural Security Area assessments for 20 to 30 municipalities
  • Completing the park access metrics.

While internships are unpaid, CCPC offers opportunities to gain valuable hands-on experience under the supervision of senior-level planners. This experience is highly valuable for recent graduates seeking employment in the planning field. The CCPC can also accommodate students needing minimum hours for internship credits prior to graduation. Hours are flexible depending on students’ needs, interests, and availability. Rising Juniors through Seniors and Graduate students preferred.
