Planning Toolkit

As part of the implementation of the TCRPC Regional Growth Management Plan, the online Planning Toolkit was developed to provide public officials, community leaders, regional stakeholders and the general public with information, resources and examples on a variety of important planning-related topics. In 2020, TCRPC staff
began an update process that included public outreach via survey and a brainstorming session at the American Planning Association PA Chapter’s 2020 Conference. Based on the input received, a prioritized list of topics was developed for inclusion in the Planning Toolkit. TCRPC staff will provide an explanation of how the process unfolded
and what lessons were learned. Examples of what is included in the Toolkit include a model zoning ordinance, model subdivision ordinance and educational factsheets on such timely topics as solar facility management, tiny houses, off-street parking maximums, etc. Participants will have the opportunity to provide comments and ask questions before the Planning Toolkit is finalized.
