Southeast Section Event: Complete Streets and Vision Zero
October 4, 2019 @ 2:00 pm - 3:30 pm
Complete Streets and Vision Zero Training
The City of Philadelphia adopted Complete Streets standards in 2012 to:
- Improve pedestrian and bicyclist safety
- Enhance civic and community use of our streets
- Make our streets more welcoming to visitors
As projects come in for development reviews, sometimes there is confusion about how to meet these standards and why they matter. This course is designed to illustrate the history and purpose of Complete Streets as well as define the documentation and review processes necessary for compliance. The course will also place Complete Streets in the context of Vision Zero, a citywide policy designed to reduce traffic deaths and injuries. Speakers include: David Kanthor, Kelly Yemen and Jack Conviser.
