PMPEI Train the Trainer, Continued
May 16, 2020
A “Train-the-Trainer” class to prepare new instructors to teach the PA Municipal Planning Education’s “Course in Community Planning” is scheduled for May 2020. Citizen and professional planners, and allied professionals, with a minimum of five years’ experience in planning in Pennsylvania who are committed to planning education are eligible to become PMPEI Certified Instructors.
“Train-the-Trainer” is PMPEI’s procedure for equipping new instructors with the in-depth knowledge of the course content to ensure the Course in Community Planning is taught consistently throughout the Commonwealth, as well as learning principles of adult education, program procedures, and team teaching presentation delivery.
The intensive 20-hour program of workshop presentation and discussion will be held Friday and Saturday, May 1 and 2, and, Saturday, May 16, 2020. The training will be at the Centre Region COG Building in State College.
The registration fee for the training is $150 and covers instruction, materials, all breaks, lunches, and a Friday night meal. Trainees are responsible for their transportation and lodging. Upon completion of the training certified instructors receive compensation for teaching courses, travel reimbursement, and meal expenses. Teaching assignments are made so instructors can teach close to where they live.
If you would like to become a PMPEI Certified Instructor contact Stanford Lembeck, AICP, (814) 237-2382, or email slembeck34@gmail.com, for an application. Applications are reviewed and approved by the PMPEI Board of Directors. Space in the training program is limited.
The deadline for applying for The Course in Community Planning training is April 3, 2020.
