Central Section Event: Stormwater Management
May 18, 2017 @ 8:00 am - 3:30 pm
Central Section presents: Stormwater Management: Compliance, Coordination & Cost!
This workshop will provide an overview of many facets of managing stormwater to improve water quality. Presenters include a regulator, county and local municipalities, an ecologicial and restoration design firm and a civil engineering firm, all of whom are working to not only meet water quality requirements and needs, but to restore and protect the environment. Attendees will learn why stormwater regulations have continued to evolve, how one county is leading a successful collaborative regional effort to reduce the cost of regulatory compliance, and what a municipality can expect if EPA comes knocking. A presentation on stormwater best management practices will demonstrate how implementation of such projects can maximize both environmental and economic returns. Additionally, a municipality and its consultant will share their experience with creating a stormwater authority to address planning, funding, design, implementation, and maintenance of stormwater infrastructure. Approved for 5.5 CM credit.
