3rd Annual Fall Geodesign Forum

http://planningpa.org/wp-content/uploads/gravity_forms/2-bbf484a7b225af784e785741ac5ede14/2015/10/3dny.jpgThe 3rd Annual Fall Geodesign Forum at Philadelphia University will bring together design practitioners, educators, and students of the built environment who are interested not only in the SHIFT of Philadelphia’s changing skyline and urban landscape, but also the SHIFT in enabling technology (especially 3D) which helps us better understand, plan and design for, measure, and visualize changes to the landscape via geodesign. Geodesign is the application of GIS/geospatial technologies to enhance sustainable design and planning of the built environment.

Keynote

  • 3D Visualization for Urban Planning and Design – Eric Brady, Bergmann Associates, Ground-Based LiDAR Workflow for GIS and BIM 3D Modeling – Patrick Gahagan, Rochester, NY and Daniel Interrante, PhilaU Geodesign ‘15
  • Esri and PhilaU and Daniel Rich, PhilaU Geodesign ’15

MS in Geodesign Summer Studio Presentation

2015 MS in Geodesign students will also present, “The Shifting Landscape of the Philadelphia Navy Yard,” and will walk you through the geodesign process that led to innovative design and planning alternatives for redevelopment at The Navy Yard and will feature 3D assessment and visualization of this rapidly emerging landscape.

This half-day event carries 4 continuing education units for landscape architects and architects, and is followed by a ‘Meet-Up’ networking social. Come and see compelling examples of geodesign in action and network with your peers.
