Pipelines & People: How Communities Can Better Understand and Manage Pipelines

Major pipelines projects resulting from the boom in shale gas extraction have had significant impact on communities in their path. This webinar will provide an update on the major transmission pipeline projects in Pennsylvania as well as identifying the community perceptions of pipeline development for the residents impacted by the pipelines.

This community perception affects how local governments protect their citizens from these impacts. Municipalities can address pipeline safety at the local level through best planning practices and ordinance regulations.

This webinar will address specific tools for pipeline planning and discuss pipeline safety, legal issues, state planning legislation obligations, comprehensive planning concepts, and local standards to assess impact and regulate pipeline-related activities.

Approved for  1.25 CM credit
