Northwest Section is holding an event May 2nd.  Census Data Workshop | 4 CM credits will be held at the PennDOT District I Office.  John Maurer will be your speaker. Maurer joined the Pennsylvania State Data Center’s (PaSDC) Data Services Department in September of 2010.  As the State Capital Office Coordinator, he serves as the PaSDC’s liaison to various data users, including the Pennsylvania General Assembly, executive branch agencies, and the media.  His responsibilities include answering data requests, preparing PaSDC publications, and providing instruction on Census data products. He has also presented at various state-wide conferences like the Pennsylvania Economic Development Association (PEDA) and written for statewide planning publications.

PaSDC Census Workshops provide hands-on training in using the Census Bureau’s datasets, including the Decennial Census, American Community Survey, Population Estimates Program and the Economic Census. The workshop also offers a detailed explanation of Census Bureau concepts, definitions and geographic areas. Participants will learn how to navigate American FactFinder, find and download data to Microsoft Excel and other software programs to perform analysis.

Approved for 4 CM credits.
