LV Event: Transit Supportive Land Use Planning | 1.5 CM

This session will engage all attendees in a presentation and discussion over local land use planning for transit issues and initiatives that encourage using transit. Planning tools will include using visual schematics, PowerPoint presentation and a dialogue between LANta and the LVPC that address issues on a local and regional level. Mr. O’Neil will discuss the essential elements of land use and design that can help to make transit a convenient and feasible modal choice in our communities. Ms. Slevin Wood will discuss the tools used to create the various renderings used in LANta’s Transit Supportive Land Use document and the importance of incorporating visual elements into policy documents. Learning objectives:
Major learning objectives for attendees to hear all about include:

  • Learn about LANta, the region’s public transportation network.
  • Learn about LANta’s strategic vision for the enhancement of the public transportation network.
  • Understand the land use and design conditions that can facilitate and promote the use of transit in communities.
  • Learn specific items that should be addressed in planning and SALDO ordinances to ensure these conditions are addressed.
