Redevelopment of Iron Works Brownfields Site in Catasauqua

A panel of experts will explain how the Borough of Catasauqua has been working to facilitate the redevelopment of the former Crane Iron Works property along Front Street to create a mix of commercial, residential, and public uses.  Known as the Catasauqua Iron Works, the initial phase of the project was completed in 2017 and included the construction of a new $10 million building to house the Borough offices, fire department, and police station at the site, as well as the conversion of Front Street to two way traffic. The Borough also recently chose Dunn Twiggar Company as the preferred developer for the balance of the property and is currently planning site preparation work including selective adaptive reuse or demolition of obsolete industrial buildings and installation of roadways and utilities to prepare the site for redevelopment.
