The Second Amendment Right to Bear Arms is implicated by local zoning and land use regulations. State and federal courts have decided an increasing number of cases that limit the scope of land use regulation on firearms. This presentation first provides and overview of considerations in regulating firearms and related activities in zoning, then discusses ways in which the states have preempted certain local land use regulations. Finally, the presenters discuss recent case law applicable to zoning and firearms, including the latest United States Supreme Court decision. More information.
