Building Healthy Places | 1.5 CM
March 19, 2014 @ 8:00 am - 10:00 am
Communities around the world are facing pressing health challenges related to the built environment. The ULI Building Healthy Places Initiative is working to connect people to the latest resources and thinking about the topic. The ULI Philadelphia Lehigh Valley Council invites you to join us in this important conversation. What you will gain by attending:
- A deeper understanding of strategies for building healthy places and communities, and how the demand for these places is evolving.
- Examples of what other communities are doing to encourage healthy building and how this has paid off in terms of community and economic health.
- Models of effective partnerships among developers, government agencies, and other stakeholders.
- The latest thinking on what it takes to make places where people want to live, work and play – information you can use to better position yourself in the marketplace.
Join Keynote speaker Maureen McAvey, Senior Resident Fellow, Bucksbaum Family Chair for Retail, ULI; and Panelists Sara Hailstone, Director of Community and Economic Development, City of Allentown; Christopher Kocher, President, Wildlands Conservancy; Darlene Heller, Director of Planning and Zoning, City of Bethlehem; and Mark Smallwood, Executive Director, Rodale Institute.
