Who Invited the PA PUC to the Planning Party?

The Pennsylvania Public Utilities Commission (PUC) is referenced several times in the PA Municipalities Planning Code (MPC) including Article IV – Subdivision & Land Development & Article VI – Zoning when it comes to having residents receiving potable water and proper wastewater treatment. The impacts of the authority of the PUC with regard to water treatment systems including distribution lines will be presented.

This webinar addresses this intersection of the MPC and the PUC through an explanation of the purpose of the PUC and its role in the world of municipal zoning.  There will be a discussion of the exemptions that trigger a hearing before the PUC, a few PUC cases that involve this exemption and the PUC administrative process pertaining to water treatment system approval as part of zoning and subdivision/land development municipal approvals.
