Design on the Delaware Courses Offer AIA, AICP, GBCI CM, LA CES, PDH Continuing Education Units

You can select from over 50 programs and tours at the 10th annual Design on the Delaware conference November 14-16 in Philadelphia. Architects, landscape architects and planners can earn up to 20 continuing education units. 11 courses provide GBCI CM for LEED AP professionals. Courses include AICP CM/Law special session for planners.

Registration options are available for the entire conference, single day, individual Friday programs, and trade show. AIA, ASLA, APA, Engineers Club, GBCA, ULI, USGBC and other collaborating organization members entitled to discount member pricing. Green Stormwater Infrastructure in Parkland and Commercial/Industrial Settings

The program consists of a tour of green stormwater infrastructure (GSI) installations in Philadelphia. Participants will visit a range of GSI installations emphasizing two contrasting environments and project scales: large scale installations in unconstrained public park settings and smaller scale installations within constrained private commercial and industrial properties. Transportation provided.

Greening Greenfield School: A Detailed Design Presentation of Urban Green Infrastructure and High Performance Landscapes

The Albert M. Greenfield School in Philadelphia is one of the first successful stormwater retrofit schoolyards for the City of Philadelphia School District. This presentation, led by the project landscape architect and civil engineer, will present the detailed design of this project, from student input through site investigation, design, construction, and “lessons learned.”

From Elephants to Education Center:
The Green Renovation of Paul Cret’s Pachyderm House

1 AIA/CES (HSW/SD) CEH; 1 LA (HSW) CES; 1 CEU Eligible for PA. Landscape Architects; 1 PDH Equivalent; 1 GBCI CM
Through design drawings, existing conditions images, and in-progress construction photos, this program will share the story of the transformation of the former Pachyderm House and exhibit yards into the new green children’s zoo at the Philly Zoo. Special emphasis will be placed on the key sustainability opportunities and challenges in the facility’s adaptive reuse, site restoration, stormwater management, educational exhibits and animal habitats.
