The Township of South Fayette is seeking a Director of Engineering and Planning to position the Township to continue to manage growth in a responsible, sustainable manner. The Director of Engineering is expected to assume a leadership role within the Administrative Team of the Township. Under general direction from the Township Manager, he/she shall direct all planning, zoning and construction inspection activities administered through the Engineering and Planning Office. Additionally, the Director of Engineering and Planning will be expected to coordinate the internal and external review of land development applications and also construction and post construction inspections.
Graduation from an accredited college or university with a minimum of a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, urban planning or closely related area. Experience equivalent to five (5) years of supervisory/managerial level professional municipal or consulting civil/public works engineering and or planning. The successful candidate will have an inclusive managerial style, as well as clear, concise and open communication skills; a record of problem solving, decisiveness and approach-ability; proven leadership skills to direct the high-output, customer-oriented building, permitting and inspection oversight.
