Susquehanna Township is searching for an entry-level Community Planner willing to work as part of a collaborative team, share innovative solutions, learn on the job, and adapt to the challenges of municipal government. Enthusiasm for a wide range of planning topics, including community involvement, planning, zoning, land development, and environmental issues, is necessary. The ideal candidate will have 0-1 years of professional experience and education in planning, landscape architecture, architecture, public administration, or related field. Experience with GIS, public speaking, municipal research, and technical writing is a plus.

Professional-level planning work in the following functional areas: planning and zoning review, subdivision and land development review, long-range and current planning, public improvement projects, GIS analysis, keeping and tracking all permit and plan records, revitalization initiatives, research and analysis, technical assistance on large to small scale projects, responding to resident needs, resolving problems relative to Township ordinances, and supporting the Planning Commission, Design Review Committee, and Zoning Hearing Board by presenting plans and recommendations in support of the Comprehensive Plan and Official Map.
