South Jersey Transportation Planning Organization (SJTPO) Seeking Assistant Planner or Engineer

The South Jersey Transportation Planning Organization (SJTPO), the regional transportation planning agency covering Atlantic, Cape May, Cumberland, and Salem Counties, is seeking a technically oriented professional. The appropriate candidate for the position will conduct project-oriented planning activities to support the implementation of transportation projects in the SJTPO region. Specific tasks include, but are not limited to, research and GIS analysis related to local project development and selection, development of the Transportation Improvement Program (TIP), congestion relief planning, transportation safety efforts, and collaboration with area planners and engineers. The position will report to the Program Manager – Capital Programming & Project Development. At times, field work and travel may be required. The applicant should have experience with GIS as well as Microsoft Access, Excel, and related software. Minimum qualifications include a bachelor’s degree in planning, engineering, or a relevant alternative. Master’s degree and/or relevant experience is desirable. The candidate must have excellent written, verbal, and technical communication skills.
