North Fayette Township Seeking Community Development Director

The Township of North Fayette, Allegheny County, Pennsylvania is seeking a qualified professional to oversee the planning, zoning, building and community development functions for the Township. Under general administrative direction from the Township Manager, the Community Development Director performs complex and difficult, planning and development projects and assumes lead responsibility over the building inspection and code compliance functions by supervising the day-to-day activities of a departmental staff of four employees. Performs professional land use planning assignments, studies and reports related to the application of township codes and policies.

Job Description
The Community Development Director is responsible for the coordination of plan reviews with other Township departments, engineering consultants, attorney’s and other referral agencies. Responsible for maintaining an address-based file system for all building and planning records and an integrated GIS (Geographic Information System) database that includes zoning, streets, utilities, and more. Serves as primary staff support to the Planning Commission and Zoning Hearing Board. Attendance at all Board of Supervisors, Planning Commission and Zoning Hearing Board meetings and hearings is required. Develops and maintains public information, including website information, regarding Township planning, building and zoning functions. Produces materials, including Power Point programs and Photoshop documents, to support public presentations and input processes.
