Description

 

Michael Baker International is currently seeking a Planning Intern to work in our Harrisburg, PA office for the summer of 2025. The Planning Intern position will work collaboratively to provide technical support for Michael Baker’s community planning and economic development services along with their multimodal transportation and transit planning groups in their Harrisburg, Pennsylvania office.

Duties and responsibilities include the following:

  • Provide planning support for development of community comprehensive plans and studies.
  • Support for multi-modal and long-range transportation plan studies and reports.
  • Assist in technical writing for studies and recommendations for transit plans.
  • Conduct and analyze relevant research and study development with supervision and support from the planning team.
  • Use ArcGIS to create and analyze spatial data and maps to support the planning work of the office.
  • Be knowledgeable and able to use MS Excel, Access, and Word.

Requirements

 

Professional Requirements include:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a Planning or Public Administration related field.
  • Minimum of 2 years completed coursework for those pursuing Bachelor’s degree.
  • Minimum 3.0 GPA
  • Preference for those with experience using ArcGIS.

Compensation:
The compensation for this role will be $22.00/hr. to $23.00/hr. in Harrisburg, PA.
