Lycoming County Planning & Community Development Seeking Zoning Officer

The Lycoming County Planning Department is looking for an energetic individual who is interested in working in a team environment. Lycoming County is a great community to live/work and play. We are an active Planning Department with many opportunities for being involved in unique projects and future advancement.

Under the supervision of the Development Services Supervisor, the Zoning Officer is responsible for:

Assists with the administration of the Lycoming County Zoning Ordinances. Also assists with Lycoming County Subdivision and Land Development Ordinance administration and municipal subdivision and land development review as time permits.
The promotion of public understanding of the ordinance, the purposes and objectives of zoning, and subdivision and land development, and the public interest justification for land use regulation.

Full performance requirements include a Bachelors’ degree in Planning or related field, and two (2) years of related experience sufficient to perform duties listed above.
Ability to communicate complex technical and legal matters effectively and courteously with regulated or uninformed parties; plus public speaking, written, and graphics skills required.
Capable of using a personal computer to perform the required database, spreadsheet, word processing and related functions.
Current, valid Pennsylvania driver’s license with personal vehicle available for work related use required.
Must submit to and pass a drug screening and background check per County
