Lycoming County Planning & Community Development Seeking Community & Economic Development Planner

The PCD Department is located in downtown Williamsport, PA. The City of Williamsport lies along the West Branch of the Susquehanna River and is best known for being the home of the Little League World Series and the “Lumber Capital of the World”. Lycoming County has a varied background and a very promising future. We are part of the PA Wilds and PA Lumber Heritage Area Regions and offer a wide range of year-round recreational opportunities while still being within easy driving distance of State College, Harrisburg, Scranton, Allentown, Philadelphia and Baltimore. The area is home to the Pine Creek Rail Trail, fly-fishing, boating, golfing, camping, and many miles of hiking & biking trails. Williamsport and the County also offer many cultural, artistic and historical sites and venues.
Community & Economic Development Planner Position – Open

Description:
With input and direction from the Community Development Lead Planner, this Planner position develops County initiatives and policies for economic development, housing, and other community outreach programs. This position provides professional input, analysis and technical assistance for a variety of projects and programs to other planners, county agencies, non-profits and local municipalities.
Lycoming County PCD Department engages with many different entities in the region, both government and non-government, to assist and advocate for the implementation of the Lycoming County Comprehensive Plan.

Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university in planning, public administration, geography or other related field and or experience/training in a similar capacity. Current PA driver’s license. Salary is dependent upon experience.
