Zoning and Code Enforcement Officer



East Cocalico Township, Lancaster County, PA, is seeking qualified applications for the
position of Zoning and Code Enforcement Officer. Under administrative direction of the
Director of Community Development, the Zoning and Code Enforcement Officer administers
and ensures compliance with the Township Zoning Ordinance, Stormwater Management and
Earth Disturbance Ordinance, and nuisance and property maintenance codes; serves as the
Township Building Code Official and Floodplain Administrator; issues zoning, building, and
stormwater permits; conducts plan reviews; handles Zoning Hearing Board applications;
handles on-lot sewage disposal system administrative matters; and provides assistance and
information to property owners, applicants, professional consultants, and other members of the

Job Requirements


The candidate must possess strong oral and written communication skills; knowledge of municipal
land use and stormwater ordinances, codes, and implementation and compliance policies and
procedures; working knowledge of basic principles and practices of the building trades; have or
be willing to obtain PA Building Code Official certification; have experience as a planner,
zoning/codes enforcement officer, building inspector/plans examiner or equivalent private section
experience; degree in planning, construction management, public administration, or related field
