Job Description

 

Under the administrative direction of the Assistant Planning Director for Community Development, the Transportation Planner performs a wide variety of transportation planning, technical and grant writing, along with other related analytical tasks to implement Crawford County’s Comprehensive Plan and transportation studies. This position will be called upon to collaborate/coordinate on local and regional transportation projects, in conjunction with the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT), Northwest Commission Regional Planning Organization (NW RPO), Crawford Area Transportation Authority, and local municipal governments in order to address transportation needs.

Job Requirements

 

Ideal Candidates should have a bachelor’s degree in Urban Planning, Civil Engineering, or closely related field. Grant management and writing experience preferred as well as knowledge of PennDOT and Federal Highway programs. Experience with Microsoft Office and ArcGIS is required.
Transportation Planner is a Pennsylvania Social Services Union (PSSU Local 668) Service Employees International Union – Professional Employees position (Community Planner) with a 35-hour work week and salary in accordance with the agreed upon union contract pay scale. The position includes a full benefit package after ninety (90) days.
