Description

 

Crawford County Planning is seeking an inspired, out-of-the-box thinker who is committed to building a culture of planning in Crawford County, Pennsylvania.

As Division Manger for the Community Planning Division, your role is to focus on administration of current and long-range planning activities through capacity building as well as data-driven planning and policy development. As Division Manager you’d be responsible to prepare, implement, and monitor the County’s comprehensive plan and similar studies.

In this role you’ll provide oversight of Community Planning Division staff as well as develop and manage Crawford County Planning’s Community Capacity Connect Program. Additionally, you’ll partner with Crawford County’s GIS Department to implement MuniConnect, a planning-based GIS project.

Requirements

 

Ideal candidates will have a Master’s degree in planning or related field with three years of experience or a bachelor’s degree in planning or a related field with five years of experience, one of which is in a supervisory role. Eligibility to obtain certification by the American Institute of Certified Planners desired.

Candidates should be:
• Knowledgeable of urban or regional planning and development along with a strong comprehension of local government policies and procedures in Pennsylvania;
• Knowledgeable of the Pennsylvania Municipalities Planning Code (Act 247 PA MPC) and relevant planning case law and theory;
• Familiar with research methods and statistical principles related to urban and rural development patterns;
• Able to present and defend information in a public setting;
• Highly organized and detail-oriented;
• Strong project management and time management skills;
• Self-motivated and able to work independently or as part of a group;
• Able to present and communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing;
• Proficient with standard computer software programs and Geographic Information Systems (GIS);
• Strong analytical skills to interpret data;
• Able to multi-task;
• Able to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with those contacted in the course of work.
