Cranberry Township, Butler County, is seeking applicants for one (1) full-time planning and development specialist position with the Planning & Development Services Department. The Township is accepting applications for both a Planning and Development Specialist II and a Planning and Development Specialist III, with the intent to fill one (1) open position.

Responsibilities for this position include: coordinating and conducting reviews of land development, sub-division and other related applications; preparing subdivision, zoning, land development amendments; conducting research and analysis on planning and development objective and goals and collaboratively working with internal and external stakeholders in the development of short-term and long-term planning, design, and implementation efforts. This position will also represent the Township at community meetings and commission meetings as assigned.

Approximate Wage:
Planning and Development Specialist II – $55,000 – $60,000 annually, plus our fringe benefits program.
Planning and Development Specialist III – $65,00 – $70,000 annually, plus our fringe benefits program.

Requirements 

 

The Planning and Development Specialist II position requires bachelor’s degree in planning, urban design, environmental science/design, or related field; supplemented by two (2) years of experience related to municipal planning, including land use considerations; or an equivalent combination of education, certification, training, and/or experience

The Planning and Development Specialist III position requires a bachelor’s degree in planning, urban design, environmental science/design, or related field; supplemented by four (4) years of experience related to municipal planning, including land use considerations; or an equivalent combination of education, certification, training, and/or experience. AICP certification is required or must be obtained within six (6) months of being employed with Cranberry Township.
Applicants for both positions must have a valid Driver’s License.
Preferred Qualifications:

Three (3) years of experience related to municipal planning, including land use considerations, including one (1) year of professional planning experience and an AICP certification is preferred for the Planning and Development Specialist II position.

A Master’s degree in urban design and planning; supplemented by five (5) years of experience in a municipal planning office, including two (2) years of professional planning experience is preferred for the Planning and Development Specialist III position.
