County Planning Specialist

Job Description 

 

Under general direction, the purpose of the position is to assist in administering the planning and community development programs and services offered through the County. Employees in this classification perform technical work. Position is responsible for providing reviews of subdivisions and development plans, providing related technical assistance to municipalities of the county, assisting in implementing community development plans, providing reviews and comments on various permit applications, proposed projects and grant applications for land use consistency, assists with updates and maintenance of Comprehensive Plan and land development regulations, assist in administering county programs such as Community Development Block Grant program, the County Farm Land Preservation Program and related housing initiatives, providing training and preparing educational materials associated with county programs as needed, and preparing associated reports. Job Requirements 

 

Bachelor’s degree in public administration, economic development, planning or closely related field; supplemented by up to two (2) years previous experience and/or training involving community planning; or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
