The Chester County Planning Commission seeks a Planning Division Director responsible for division management and administration with a focus on implementing the County’s comprehensive plan, Landscapes3, through collaboration and consensus building with local municipalities and community partners.
This position assists municipalities with community planning efforts; oversees the urban planning, historic preservation, housing programs and events; and provides limited oversight of economic planning efforts. The Division Director is responsible for administering the Vision Partnership Program, including the review and awarding of cash grants and the provision of direct county consulting services to municipalities to support and implement their planning programs.
The successful candidate must have strong supervisory, time management, and leadership skills as well as excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Minimum Qualifications: Minimum qualifications include a bachelor’s degree in city or regional planning, public administration, or related field from an accredited college or university and eight years of progressive experience in community planning and management. Master’s degree and AICP certification preferred.
