Job Description

 

Centre County, Pennsylvania is seeking a director for the County Planning and Community Development Office. This person is responsible for administering all planning office activities conducted by a staff of 12 and oversees: comprehensive planning, subdivision and land development, transportation planning, affordable housing initiatives, and grant administration including CDBG, RACP, the Small Community Water Systems Program and the Mosquito Disease Control Program.

Job Requirements 

 

Required Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in planning or closely related field with graduate degree preferred.
  • Computer literacy and familiarity with computer programs desired.

Required Experience:

  • Over five (5) years experience in planning and supervision, with demonstrated increases in responsibilities and administrative competence.

Special Requirements:

  • Must possess a valid Pennsylvania driver’s license and a willingness to travel as needed.
  • Valid membership in AICP (American Institute of Certified Planners).
