Senior Transportation Planner

Description
|
|
|
The CCMPO provides transportation planning services for Centre County, Pennsylvania. The planning area has a population of approximately 162,000 residents and a geographic area of 150 square miles.
The CCMPO is seeking a dynamic individual with the vision and commitment to help continue planning for a variety of transportation needs in the County. Primary responsibilities include:
- Ability to prepare an active transportation plan to replace the current Centre Region Bike Plan.
- Assisting with preparation of other plans including the Long-Range Transportation Plan, Transportation Improvement Plan, and Unified Planning Work Program.
- Drafting scopes of work for transportation studies and plans.
- Presenting to MPO committees, local governing bodies, other commissions, and public presentations.
- Assisting local project sponsors in the development and delivery of transportation priorities and projects, and providing support in the analysis of transportation, demographic, land use, and related data.
- Completing progress reports and conforming to regulations and guidelines as required by funding sources.

Requirements
|
|
|
- Minimum of two years directly related experience
- Demonstrated knowledge of federal, and state transportation laws, funding sources, policies, and processes.
- Excellent communication skills, problem solving, creative thinking.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
- Competency with ArcGIS
|
