Associate Planner

Job Description


The Brandywine Conservancy seeks an Associate Planner for its Municipal Assistance Program. This is a new position established among a team of six professional planners, and is intended to increase the Conservancy’s outreach and technical assistance to northern Delaware municipalities, state and federal agencies, and conservation organizations. Some work with southeastern Pennsylvania municipalities will also be included.

Duties include, but are not necessarily limited to, research, technical report writing and production, mapping and analysis, physical site assessments, municipal and public outreach/communication, and some field work.

Job Requirements


Suitable candidates will have strong communication skills, a working knowledge of local and county-level planning, zoning, and subdivision regulations, and a passion for their work. Experience with trail and greenway planning/implementation a plus. This position requires a Bachelor’s degree in urban or regional planning, environmental sciences, or related field and a minimum of two years of relevant work experience. A Master’s degree and relevant internship may substitute for one of the two years of required work experience. Position requires attendance at evening and occasional weekend meetings and events.
