APA is once again asking chapters (and divisions) to consider who to nominate for membership in the Fellows of the American Institute of Certified Planners (FAICP). The basic requirements are membership in AICP for at least 15 years and good standing with APA, but a successful nominee must have much more: significant contributions to planning and society, individual achievement that elevates the person as a model planner, and achievement of excellence in one of the following four categories: professional practice, teaching and mentoring, research, or community service and leadership. APA-PA’s recent inductees into FAICP include Richard Bickel, Carol Collier, Toby Fauver, and Jerry Walls. Who will be our next nominee? Good question – please let the chapter know who you think is a deserving nominee. We are collecting suggestions now, to prepare properly for a nomination packet deadline in October 2017. Please send suggestions to Chapter PDO Susan Elks at email@example.com. More information on FAICP guidelines can be found at www.planning.org/faicp.
