2020 Professional Certificate in Municipal Finance

March 18 - March 20

In partnership with the University of Chicago, the Lincoln Institute of Land Policy will host courses on municipal finance. Designed for urban planning, real estate, and economic development professionals, the program will provide a thorough foundation in the following topics:

  • Urban Economics and Growth
  • Intergovernmental Fiscal Frameworks
  • Capital Budgeting, Accounting, and Infrastructure Maintenance
  • Debt and Municipal Securities
  • Land-Based Finance
  • Public-Private Partnerships
  • Cost-Benefit Analysis
  • Fiscal Impact Analysis

Those with the following experience will be given preference for admission:

  • New to senior-level urban planners who work in both the private and public sectors as well as individuals in the land development industry at large.
  • Job titles including:
    • Urban Planners 
    • Community and Economic Development Staff
    • Developers and real estate professionals 
    • Real Estate Attorneys

Cost to Attend

Public and Non-Profit Sector Employees: $1,200
Private Sector Employees: $2,250

The program fee includes program materials, breakfast, lunch, coffee breaks, and a welcome group dinner the first evening.
