AICP Certification is the only nationwide, independent verification of planners’ qualifications. Earn the AICP Certification and colleagues and employers will know that you have the academic qualifications, relevant work experience, and mastery of essential skills required to serve your community effectively. This APA PA Committee is focused on supporting students aspiring to enter the Planning profession and providing information on Planning as a profession and component of core civics curriculum to all students.

Each year the Pennsylvania Chapter of the American Planning Association offers a scholarship to support student planners seeking funds for academic degree programs, internships, and professional development activities that enhance planning at the local, regional, state, and national levels. Pennsylvania has two graduate planning programs and one undergraduate program accredited by the Planning Accreditation Board, a joint effort of the American Planning Association and the Association of Collegiate Schools of Planning.
