Pennsylvania Demographics: Sources & Trends

Finding and using demographic information is an important part of planning practice. In fact, this information is vital for communities to integrate into their comprehensive planning. In addition, the availability of timely, accurate, and useful information is a key factor in economic competitiveness and survival and for day to day decision-making of businesses, non-profits as well as local governments. Having a better understanding of data and its importance in planning for both governments and businesses will be discussed. The Pennsylvania State Data Center is a well-known provider of demographic data, and is in fact the Commonwealth’s official source of population and economic statistics. This webinar will provide information on the range of data and services available.  It will also provide information on Pennsylvania’s population trends and changes as well as their implications for planners and the communities they work in.
