What is the extent of aesthetic realism portrayed in planning and design proposals, master plans and design guidelines? How can project proposals for new developments, improvements, and urban design scenarios and design guidelines, be communicated through illustrations in a way that informs citizens and encourages participation, but not overly illustrated to suggest or imply an exact appearance post-construction? What is the role of the planner reviewing illustrative proposals and project simulations and interpreting design guidelines and what is the applicant’s responsibility?
